Kill Firefox (Mac)

Rightly or wrongly, I still use Firefox quite a lot. I like the way Firebug works for web development.

Yes, I know I should use Chrome more.

Anyway, after a while, Firefox will get really confused, use up lots of RAM / memory on my mac and I just can’t quit it. Force quit – nope. Activity Monitor – nope. Restart the Mac – yes, but I was working on something and listening to some tunes… Ah – Kill processes… but which ones.

Well this worked for me – from apple.stackexchange.com and a user called loco.loop – thank you!

What you do is, open the Terminal and type this:

sudo killall launchservicesd
sudo killall Dock

And now I can start Firefox and get on with things.
